Guetersloh/London, 07 February 2025 - Sonopress and Warner Music Group (WMG) have been awarded the prestigious Clio Award in Gold for the production of the Coldplay album ‘Moon Music’ as an EcoRecord. The coveted industry awards cherish creative excellence in advertising around the world. The Clios awarded in the categories of sport, music, health and entertainment, with each area tailored to the specific challenges and successes of these sectors. In addition to Sonopress, this year's big gold winners include Amazon's ‘Megan Thee’ promo for Prime Day, Billboard Arabia's ‘Sounds of the Land’ initiative and various Spotify campaigns.
The high-calibre jury presented the award for the pioneering project ‘Making Coldplay's new album Moon Music as sustainable as possible’, which was realised in close collaboration by Sonopress and the Warner Music Group. The goal of the project was to drastically reduce the ecological footprint of record production without compromising on quality and sound. The result: a 100 % recyclable long-playing record that uses a sustainable manufacturing process and innovative recycled materials.
Great joy for everyone involved
“It is simply fantastic that we have won Gold in this year's Clio Award in the ‘Sustainability Music Marketing’ category. This great success is another important milestone on the journey to greater sustainability that we started early last year with our partner Warner Music Group and with the incredibly talented and dedicated members of the band Coldplay,” says Sonopress Managing Director Sven Deutschmann and continues: “Together we have worked hard to ensure that the environmental impact of the hit album Moon Music is significantly lower than that of conventional albums thanks to the use of the sustainable Sonopress products EcoRecord and EcoCD.”
